My late summer / early fall of Backpacking

My daughter Lauren decided she wanted to try backpacking, probably spurred on by a summer job leading kayak trips.  I used backpack in the late '80s in the Sierras, so I thought I could support her in this.  In the process I rediscovered that I really loved backpacking and wondered if I could still do it.

So I got out my old REI external frame pack and tried to jump back in.
